Murdoch4Fulshear City Council
I would like to run to be your City Councilman
The thought of running for City Councilman has been on my mind now for the last several months. I've prayed with my wife, and the Holy Spirit has answered us by continually placing it on my heart to serve the community.
The reason I feel lead to run for City Council is to first and foremost be a voice for the people. I’m a man of building consensus amongst people, and my corporate career has prepared me for the problems that Fulshear residents experience. The community faces the following issues, and I have several ideas to help with improvement.
1. High commute times to and from anywhere. Fulshear residents spend too much time on the roads going to work and back. But more importantly on our off times, we spend too much time commuting to shop. I want to focus on advocating for infrastructure development and improvement within our city.
2. Sales tax revenue earned off the residents of Fulshear is going to Houston, Harris County, City of Katy, or Fort Bend County. We need more commercial development. Our community not only needs commercial development, but development that is created responsibly. I want to foster responsible economic development into our community.
3. I feel that it’s vitally important to fight on your behalf to ensure that water, sewage, drainage, and waste removal utilities are serviced to you at the highest levels of greatness in the industry. Infrastructure development and improvement is vital to growth of Fulshear. I will ensure this is a priority.
I believe it's vitally important for the city to communicate with the people it serves. I intend to communicate with my constituents regarding all issues that face Fulshear and continually ask for feedback. I will bring an open door policy to talk to you on all kinds of issues in an effort to escalate these issues to the City Administration. Joy and I have a young family, and I understand the needs of good infrastructure, safety and mobility for families who live in Fulshear. We together can make Fulshear great for this generation and generations to come.
